Grab Your Baton and Take Note!

As part of the Masterpiece Living® initiative, residents at Somerby of Mobile will be taking up the baton for an invigorating form of exercise that involves learning basic conducting techniques, while enjoying music from Bach to Beethoven. It’s fittingly called Conductorcise®.

Maestro David Dworkin, the New York-based 75-year-old founder of Conductorcise, began his career as a clarinetist, performing all over the world. During his illustrious musical career, Dworkin also led orchestras across America and abroad. Now he is putting his tremendous musical skills to work by challenging program participants to have fun while getting a great workout. The staff at Somerby of Mobile will be trained and certified in Conductorcise, which will then be permanently incorporated into fitness activities at the community.

Read all about Conductorcise at www.conductorcise.com where you can view an online video and get suggestions for classical tunes from Maestro Dworkin’s Basic Listening Library. And be sure to watch Somerby residents “movin’ to the music” in the video we’ve provided in this newsletter.
